We strive to honestly represent the people we meet and the places we visit in our photos. Artificial intelligence cannot do this. It can recycle and reshape what we, photojournalists, produce, but it cannot create anew. It cannot be in the world. It cannot replicate the bodily interaction between photographer and photographed that makes our pictures real. AI cannot see. This means that AI cannot be photojournalism.

I have been a photographer for more than four decades. I continue to do my work because I believe in the power of the photojournalistic image to document, represent, amplify, and even change the world. I therefore support the Statement of Principles wholeheartedly.[/vc_column_text]

[vc_column_text text_style=”small-text”]Joseph Rodriguez
Documentarian/Photojournalist
Brooklyn, NY, USA
Website[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]

[/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row padding_top_multiplier=”custom” columns_gap=”40″ equal_column_height=”equal” padding_top=”5%”][vc_column width=”5/6″][vc_column_text text_style=”leader-text”]Documentarian/Photojournalist[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/12″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text]Our mission as photojournalists is to show the world as we experience it and see it.
