Back<\/i><\/span><\/a><\/div>[\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/12″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/4″][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text]I join the community of photojournalists, visual artists and educators who support the \u201cwriting with light\u201d statement of principles. In an era of fake news, distorted and AI created images, and staged events, truth in photography must be defended. I am a firm believer in reality as interpreted through the camera and the photographers eye. AI is not photography and should not be labeled as so. This new and dangerous world of digital distortion and AI will crush our powerful witness in documentary photography and the truth that so many of us have strived to observe through our photographs. The time is now for visual story tellers to take a stand and say to publications, editors, and creators, no to distorting or creating falsehoods. Once you eliminate truth, there is no turning back and we all lose our history. There is truth and there is untruth and we must speak loudly to what we see and witness.[\/vc_column_text]
