While AI technology enables the creation of incredibly realistic and convincing visual content, it also presents risks such as the potential for manipulated or fabricated images to deceive the audience. Consequently, photojournalists must adhere to a strict code of ethics, ensuring that AI-generated images are clearly labeled as such and employed responsibly, without compromising the accuracy and authenticity that underpin the trust between journalists and the public they serve. It is essential to strike a balance between leveraging AI’s capabilities for enhancing storytelling and maintaining the core principles of journalistic ethics to uphold the credibility and reliability of visual journalism in the digital era.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row section_type=”container-width” padding_top_multiplier=”3x” padding_bottom_multiplier=”” columns_gap=”none”][vc_column width=”5/12″ vertical_content_position=”middle” rc_heading_color=”light” rc_bg_type=”color” expand_column_bg=”expand-bg-left” column_effect=”vertical-parallax” column_effect_limit=”none” tablet_landscape_column_effect=”none” tablet_portrait_column_effect=”none” mobile_column_effect=”none” tablet_text_align=”center” tablet_sm_text_align=”center” mobile_text_align=”center” tablet_expand_column_bg=”reset” tablet_sm_expand_column_bg=”reset” mobile_expand_column_bg=”reset” rc_font_color=”#ffffff” rc_bg_color=”#14181a” css=”.vc_custom_1684511091995{padding-top: 22% !important;padding-right: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 22% !important;padding-left: 30px !important;}” z_index=”3″]

German artist Boris Eldagsen says his entry to Sony world photography awards was designed to provoke debate.

[vc_column_text]“We, the photo world, need an open discussion, a discussion about what we want to consider photography and what not.
